Trytris
Gameplay characteristics
(This is extra information for Tetris nerds. Feel free to ignore if this means nothing to you.)
- An alternative system to gravity, where pieces lock down after a set amount of time without falling
- 180 rotations
- Configurable handling settings
- A 14+2 bag randomizer, where the +2 is weighted against the +2 pieces in the previous bag.
- "All-spin" style gameplay (spin checks for all pieces, T-spins are not rewarded more than other spins, and T-spin minis are not rewarded)
- Incremental back to back chaining
- The ability to recover B2B with large combos or perfect clears right after breaking
- Improved finesse for O-pieces (O rotations)
- A slightly simplified and more consistent rotation/kick system based on SRS (more options for s/z doubles, 180 spins, more logical i-spins)
This game is the result of years of on-and-off thinking about the design of Tetris, as well as thousands of hours spent playing Tetris games and clones. It's primarily an experiment in game design and one of many different concepts I have for stacker style gameplay.
The game is open source if anyone is interested in copying or looking at my crappy code for some reason. More details on the gameplay can be found on the about/guide page.
